This throttle body is designed for 1.3L and 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engines (4G13 / 4G15) with VDO electronic engine management. Please verify your original OE number before ordering. Not compatible with earlier carbureted models or later Campro engine variants without verification. The 44mm bore is the factory specification for these applications.
This part is for electronic (drive-by-wire) systems only. It will NOT fit mechanical cable-operated throttle systems. For Proton applications, verify your vehicle has VDO engine management. For VW applications, this fits specific 2.0L naturally aspirated engines only – not 1.8T, VR6, or diesel variants without verification.
- Confirm your vehicle is one of the listed models (Proton Wira/Satria/Persona with 1.3L/1.5L 4G13/4G15; Volkswagen Golf IV with AEG 2.0L; Volkswagen Polo 2.0 Flex 2008–2009).
- Check your engine code – 4G13 (1.3L), 4G15 (1.5L), AEG (VW 2.0L), or 2.0 Flex.
-
Locate the original part number on your existing throttle body – look for
PW550614or408237520002Z. - Verify the connector has 6 pins (rectangular / D-shape, standard for this application).
- Measure or confirm the throttle bore diameter is 44mm.
- Check the mounting bolt pattern (4 bolts) and air intake duct connection match the product photos.
- Note that a new mounting gasket is not included and must be purchased separately.
- Contact us with your VIN or a photo of your original part if unsure.

The LOREADA 44mm throttle body for Proton 4G13/4G15 engines is a precision-engineered direct OEM replacement for Proton Wira, Satria, Persona, and Saga models, as well as Mitsubishi Colt and select Volkswagen Golf IV and Polo 2.0 applications. OE numbers PW550614 and 408237520002Z are interchangeable references for the same assembly. The throttle body regulates airflow into the engine based on accelerator pedal position via the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system — a complete assembly including throttle valve, actuator motor, and integrated dual throttle position sensors. Sealed edges prevent air leaks for optimal engine operation. 100% new construction, not remanufactured, no core charge required.
- ✅ OE Fitment – Direct replacement, no wiring modification required. Matches OE numbers PW550614 and 408237520002Z.
- ✅ 44mm Precision Bore – Factory-correct diameter for optimal airflow on 1.3L and 1.5L engines.
- ✅ 4G13/4G15 Optimised – Engineered for Proton Wira, Satria, and Persona with Mitsubishi 1.3L/1.5L VDO engines.
- ✅ VW 2.0L Compatible – Also fits Volkswagen Golf IV (AEG) and Polo 2.0 Flex (2008–2009).
- ✅ Plug & Play – Exact match in dimensions, 6-pin connector, and 4-bolt mounting pattern. Uses factory gasket (sold separately).
- ✅ Fast Response – Motor response time ≤ 50 ms for precise throttle control and smooth acceleration.
- ✅ Dual Redundant TPS – Prevents idle fluctuations, hunting, and false error codes (P0638, P0697, P2100, P2119, P2135).
- ✅ 100% Factory Tested – Thermal cycling, airtightness, and full-stroke angle calibration verified.
- ✅ ISO 16750 Compliant – Meets environmental standards for automotive electrical/electronic equipment.
- ✅ 100% New – Complete assembly with integrated TPS – not remanufactured, no core charge.

IMPORTANT: After replacing the ETB on Proton/VW engines, a throttle self-learning / idle relearn procedure is REQUIRED. Professional diagnostic equipment is highly recommended (VCDS for VW / appropriate tool for Proton) to perform Basic Settings adaptation – Group 098 or 060 in Engine module. The battery-disconnect method may not fully adapt the throttle body on these engines.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 5–10 minutes (clears old learned values). |
| 2 | Remove the air intake duct and disconnect the electrical connector (6-pin). |
| 3 | Remove any coolant hoses attached to the throttle body (if equipped). |
| 4 | Remove the four mounting bolts and old throttle body. |
| 5 | Discard the old gasket and clean the mating surface on the intake manifold. |
| 6 | Install a new gasket (strongly recommended – sold separately). |
| 7 | Install the new throttle body. Torque bolts to 8–10 Nm (6–7 lb-ft). |
| 8 | Reconnect coolant hoses (if equipped), electrical connector, and air intake duct. |
| 9 | Reconnect the battery. |
| 10 | Turn ignition ON (do not start engine) and wait 10 seconds. |
| 11 | Turn ignition OFF for 10 seconds. |
| 12 | Use a professional diagnostic scanner to perform “Throttle Body Adaptation” – Basic Settings Group 098 or 060 in Engine module. |
| 13 | Start the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes (do not touch accelerator). |
| 14 | Turn engine off for 30 seconds, then restart and drive normally. The ECU will complete adaptation. |
- Pre-installation check: Inspect the throttle body for any defects. Verify the OE number and connector type (6-pin) before installation.
- Gasket requirement: A new mounting gasket is strongly recommended — gasket not included. A damaged or reused gasket may cause rough idle or vacuum leaks.
- Relearn requirement: A throttle relearn calibration procedure is mandatory after installation. Professional diagnostic equipment is strongly recommended.
- Packing List: Electronic Throttle Body Unit (44mm bore, complete assembly with TPS and motor) × 1; Warranty Card × 1. (Gasket and installation hardware not included)
