Installation must be performed by a professional. After fitting, a throttle body relearn procedure is required to recalibrate the throttle body position sensor baseline — this is standard throttle body service practice for all supported platforms. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes, install the new throttle body assembly with a fresh throttle body gasket (sold separately), torque bolts to 8–10 Nm, then reconnect battery. Turn ignition ON for 10 seconds, OFF for 10 seconds, start engine and idle for 5 minutes without touching the accelerator. For Fiat/Lancia/Ford: use a compatible OBD-II scanner to perform throttle body initialisation if issues persist. For BMW M54: use BMW ISTA / INPA to perform “Throttle Body Adaptation” (EDK adaptation) if issues persist.
