The LOREADA throttle body for BMW M57 diesel engines is a precision-engineered intake air control valve designed as a direct OEM replacement. On diesel engines, the throttle body primarily manages EGR control, intake air shutoff, and idle stabilization — not power regulation (which is handled by fuel quantity). Built to BMW, Pierburg, and VDO specifications, this unit delivers factory-correct performance with a 54mm bore precisely calibrated for the M57's intake air control requirements, including EGR management. Pierburg is the Original Equipment manufacturer for this throttle body on BMW M57 diesel engines; VDO/Siemens also produced OEM units.
- ✅ OE Fitment – Direct replacement, no wiring modification required. Matches BMW, Pierburg, and VDO specifications.
- ✅ M57 Diesel Optimized – Engineered for BMW 3.0L M57 common rail diesel (306D2, 306D3, 256D2) across 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 Series, X3, X5, X6.
- ✅ 54mm Precise Bore – Factory-correct diameter for proper EGR system operation, smooth idle, and emissions compliance.
- ✅ Plug & Play – Exact match in dimensions, 6-pin connector pinouts, and mounting pattern. Uses factory gasket (sold separately).
- ✅ Fast Response – Motor response time ≤ 50 ms for precise intake control, improving EGR response and idle stability.
- ✅ Dual Redundant Position Sensors – Prevents idle fluctuations, hunting, and false error codes (P0638, P2100, P2119, etc.).
- ✅ 100% Factory Tested – Thermal cycling, airtightness, and full-stroke angle calibration verified.
- ✅ ISO 16750 Compliant – Meets environmental standards for automotive electrical/electronic equipment.
- ✅ Wide Cross-Reference – Interchanges with BMW

IMPORTANT: After replacing the throttle body on BMW M57 diesel engines, a throttle self-learning / idle relearn procedure is REQUIRED. Professional diagnostic equipment (BMW ISTA / INPA / Rheingold) is highly recommended to perform "Throttle Valve Adaptation" or "EDK adaptation". Some models require resetting the throttle valve adaptation values via scanner after replacement. Failure to adapt may result in rough idle or check engine lights.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 5–10 minutes (clears old learned values). |
| 2 | Remove the engine cover and intake air duct. |
| 3 | Disconnect the electrical connector (6-pin) from the throttle body. |
| 4 | Remove the four mounting bolts and old throttle body. |
| 5 | Discard the old gasket and clean the mating surface on the intake manifold. |
| 6 | Install a new gasket (strongly recommended – sold separately). |
| 7 | Install the new throttle body. Torque bolts to 8–10 Nm (6–7 lb-ft). |
| 8 | Reconnect the electrical connector and air intake duct. |
| 9 | Reconnect the battery. |
| 10 | Turn ignition ON (do not start engine) and wait 10 seconds. |
| 11 | Turn ignition OFF for 10 seconds. |
| 12 | Start the engine and let it idle for 5 minutes (do not touch accelerator). |
| 13 | Turn engine off for 30 seconds, then restart and drive normally. The ECU will complete adaptation. |
- Pre-installation check: Inspect the throttle body for any defects. Verify the OE number and connector type (6-pin) before installation.
- Gasket requirement: A new mounting gasket is strongly recommended — gasket not included. A damaged or reused gasket may cause rough idle or check engine lights.
- Packing List: Electronic Throttle Body Unit (54mm bore, complete assembly with TPS and motor) × 1; Warranty Card × 1. (Gasket not included – purchase separately)
